Marks and Spencer shoppers hail ‘liquid gold’ anti-ageing serum they’ve used for decades as ‘key’ to tighter skin

Marks and Spencer shoppers are swearing by a ‘liquid gold’ anti-ageing serum that they insist makes skin ‘glow’ and helps to reduce age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. The M&S anti-wrinkle serum has a cult following of women who have been using it for decades – with some saying they’ve been using it for 27 years.

The Liquid Gold anti-ageing toner contains 5% Glycolic Acid gently exfoliates the skin to clear dead skin and pollution build-up. It has been created with resurfacing and revitalising the complexion in mind, which will, in turn, improve luminosity and tone.

The Alpha-H Liquid Gold anti-wrinkle serum also has anti-ageing properties, as the ingredients used assist in stimulating collagen production and minimise the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, open pores and sun damage. The toning serum is hydrating and promotes moisture retention, while strengthening the skin’s protective barrier.

At the end of an independent clinical trial performed on a group of 28 participants over 8 weeks, 93% saw an improvement in skin elasticity. 88% of people saw an improvement in skin tone and luminosity, while 88% of people saw an improvement in skin texture.

The anti-ageing toner has a near-perfect five-star rating, with an average rating of 4.8 out of five. 97% of reviewers say they would recommend it to a friend, and beauty buffs have been impressed by how well it hydrates, makes the skin glow, and have hailed it a ‘game changer’.

One shopper said: “I’ve been using this for nearly a decade. It does make a difference to your skin and is good at tightening the pores. I highly recommend it for those of us who are getting older.”

A second penned: “Have been using this for years now and it is the best exfoliating liquid I’ve tried. Leaves the skin bright and hydrated, the bottle lasts quite a while as you only need to use it 2/3 times a week.”

A third added: “I’ve been buying this for ages, if I forget to use it I notice the difference – it’s really good, wouldn’t be without it. Excellent buy.”

Not all shoppers are so instantly impressed, one complained that it didn’t have a huge impact on her brown spots. She said: “I have a lot of sun damage due to lack of sun tan lotion in the 70s. On my second bottle and improvement on my neck wrinkles for sure, brown spots minimal improvement, but will continue. My skin appears brighter on the whole. But hey you cannot expect miracles.”

Many shoppers are saying that this is the best Glycolic Acid toner they’ve tried, but there are alternatives on the market. Boots has The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution for £11.50 – which has an average rating of 4.6 stars out of five.

L’Oreal Paris 5% Glycolic Acid Peeling Toner is currently £14.99 on the LookFantastic website. However, neither of these products have a 27-year long cult fanbase like the Alpha-H Liquid Gold, albeit a bit more on the pricey side.

You can buy the five-star rated Liquid Gold Anti-Ageing Toner with 5% Glycolic Acid is £43 on the Marks and Spencer website.
