Northern Soul legend Lorraine Silver to perform in Malvern

The concert, The Signatures: Northern Soul ’26, will take place at the Festival Theatre on Friday, September 4, at 7.30pm.

Silver is best known for the Northern Soul favourite Lost Summer Love, first recorded when she was 13.

The song went on to become a celebrated record on the Wigan Casino scene and remains closely associated with the Northern Soul movement.

She will perform alongside The Signatures, a 10-piece band known for recreating the sound of the genre’s classic records.

The group has previously appeared as the house band for the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC Radio 6 Music, and has worked with artists including Tommy Hunt, Dean Parrish, Gloria Jones, Eddie Holman and Sidney Barnes.

The Malvern date comes after the release of Silver’s latest album, Reimagined, which marks her 60-year career in music.

The Signatures’ 2026 tour will feature Silver and fellow vocalist Freddy Gilmore, performing Northern Soul standards in a theatre setting.

Tickets are available through the Malvern Theatres box office and website.
