A highly experienced real estate specialist has joined leading Yorkshire and Derbyshire law firm BRM as director.
The Sheffield and Chesterfield based solicitors has appointed Anthony Ogley as director of residential and commercial development. He will lead the firm’s established residential development team.
Bringing more than two decades of experience to the role, Anthony will build on BRM’s strong client relationships, advising on a wide range of real estate and development matters.
He said: “The decision to join BRM was an easy one: BRM is a leading regional law firm with a collaborative team ethic and culture, genuine growth ambitions and an enviable client base.
“BRM’s focus on generating long-term client relationships, its commitment to delivering commercially focused legal advice, and its investment in talented staff very much align with how I personally like to practice law.
“Coupled with the opportunity to help shape the future direction and expansion of the Sheffield office, this makes joining BRM particularly attractive.”
Anthony joins BRM from Knights, where he has been a partner since 2020.
Anthony has extensive real estate experience, covering development agreements, funding and site acquisitions and disposals across residential and commercial schemes, alongside wider expertise in landlord and tenant, investment and secured lending work.
He has advised on a wide range of schemes, from cinema-led retail developments and logistics hubs to smaller multi-unit retail sites.
He said: “Alongside my legal expertise and experience, I have a proven track record in team development and strategic business growth, built from working across numerous geographic markets in different roles and at firms of various sizes and structures.
“I am looking forwarding to using my experience to enhance and develop the legal services delivered to BRM’s established clients as well as developing new revenue streams.
“I’m also looking forward to becoming part of the BRM team, getting to know my new colleagues and again working in my home city of Sheffield.”
Adrian Sheehan, executive director at BRM, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Anthony to BRM. He brings a wealth of experience in residential and commercial development.
“Anthony’s appointment significantly strengthens our residential development offering and our real estate team as a whole, cementing our position as one of the largest teams in the region and ensuring our clients continue to receive the highest level of legal advice and support.
“We look forward to working with Anthony, who we see as a natural fit for the culture of the firm.”
