People moves for the week ending Sept. 11


Key hires this week were made at a variety of private markets firms including at alts giants such as PIMCO, and Nuveen Private Capital.

As evident in this week’s hiring dispatch, firms are looking for niche sector expertise, veterans within business development — and especially in the case of wealth management, multi-decade careers with the ability to hit the ground running. From pharmaceutical investment to European fintech experience, it all is in demand as the industry sets its sights on new opportunities.

Investors

brought on Dean Lee as senior associate on its private equity team in , where he will handle all aspects of the investment process, including sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of direct and co-investments, secondaries, and funds across . Lee previously worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered, where he advised private equity firms and South Korean conglomerates on M&A and capital markets transactions.

named John O’Toole chief investment officer for Asia-Pacific, a role he will hold alongside his existing position as global head and CIO of the Solutions platform. Based in , O’Toole joined Amundi in 2005 after roles at IKANO family office, Coutts Private Bank, and Legal & General Investment Management. Amundi also named Marc de Pontevès CEO of Amundi in , effective Sept. 8. De Pontevès moves into the role from head of French institutional clients coverage, a post he had held since 2020, and has been with Amundi since 2007, previously serving as deputy head of French institutional clients coverage. Earlier in his career, he held investor relations and marketing roles at Allianz France and worked as an investor relations consultant at Gavin Anderson & Co.

Wealth Management

Cary Street Partners bolstered its existing Charlottesville presence with the addition of Patrick Mullins as a financial advisor who leverages a nearly 20-year career with Fidelity Investments. The hire follows the firm’s move in late July in acquiring Seneca House Advisors, establishing its Richmond West End office and bringing the firm’s total number of offices to 22 nationwide.

appointed several senior advisors on the East Coast within its New York, Northern New Jersey, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh offices. Louis Porta was named investment advisor and managing director in New York. In this role, he will provide investment advice, asset allocation guidance and ongoing portfolio management for Glenmede clients. In Northern New Jersey, Christina Duffy joins as a fiduciary advisor and managing director with the aim of offering wealth management advice, trust and account administration and solutions for fiduciary, charitable, financial and wealth transfer planning. In Cleveland, two strategic hires were made — Michael Novak and Jack Glending. Novak brings three decades of experience as a fiduciary and trusted advisor, while Glending joins as an investment advisory and vice president with nearly a decade of work constructing and managing client portfolios under his belt. Lastly in Pittsburgh, Steven Kacyzynski joined as investment advisor and managing director bringing more than 12 years of expertise in advising ultra-high-net-worth families, business owners and foundations.

Private Equity

appointed Giovanni Caforio as an operating advisor to CD&R funds. His 35-year career in the international biopharmaceutical industry will aid him in supporting the firm’s funds in identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities within in addition to working with CD&R’s portfolio companies globally. Currently, Caforio is chair of the Swiss-headquartered multinational pharmaceutical company Novartis, where he has led the board since 2025. Prior to this, Caforio spent the majority of his career at U.S. biopharmaceutical company Bristol Myers Squibb, which he joined in 2000 following 12 years at Abbott Laboratories.

Warburg Pincus welcomed James von Moltke as senior advisor and executive-in-residence in Europe, where he will support the firm’s European activities, with a focus on the financial and technology sectors, and help evaluate investment opportunities and drive value creation across its portfolio. Von Moltke joins from Deutsche Bank, where he served as president from 2022 and as chief financial officer and a management board member for nine years, leading the bank’s transformation under its “Global Hausbank” strategy. He earlier was treasurer at Citigroup, led Morgan Stanley’s financial technology advisory team, and spent a decade at J.P. Morgan.

named Kiran Rao as managing director of Core Business Operations on the Value Creation Team. His focus will be on helping portfolio companies get a strong return on their investments and modernize finance and operations. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at Bridgewater Associates and Boston Consulting Group.

Infinedi Partners added three professionals to its team. Rohan Arora joined as a principal in March, tasked with sourcing, leading, growing, and exiting investments; he came from H.I.G. Capital, where he was senior vice president focused on consumer and business services, and previously held leadership roles at Insignia and Novalpina Capital. Nitish Jindal joined as a vice president in July from Charlesbank Capital Partners, where he was an associate focused on cybersecurity and vertical software. Rob DeSena joined as an associate in June from BrightTower, a boutique investment bank, where he was a senior analyst advising on middle-market M&A.

named Tom Rodgers senior partner, effective in October, and he will work alongside the firm’s growth buyout deal teams on investment evaluation and portfolio value creation. Rodgers joins from McKesson, where he was chief strategy officer leading enterprise growth strategy, acquisitions, venture investments, and innovation initiatives, and previously directed strategic investments at Cambia Health and was a partner at Advanced Technology Ventures. He brings more than 35 years of experience in healthcare strategy, corporate development, and venture investing.

named Rodney Cohen co-CEO and CIO of the firm, Ariel’s private equity business, where he will help lead the alternatives platform and investment strategy for Project Black, Ariel’s middle-market investment fund focused on minority-owned businesses, alongside Co-CEO Mellody Hobson. Cohen brings more than three decades of private equity experience, including at Carlyle Group and, most recently, as head of private equity strategies at Black Diamond Capital Management. Ariel Investments also appointed Melody Rollins executive vice president and global head of distribution, where she will lead the firm’s client service, investor relations, and business development efforts. Rollins will play a central role in deepening Ariel’s relationships with investors globally and brings more than 30 years of experience across asset management and institutional investing. Most recently, she served as global head of Core Institutional Clients at Bridgewater Associates’ largest commercial segment.

appointed Neetesh Kumar managing partner, and he will co-lead the firm’s PE strategy in the U.S. and help establish a New York presence. Kumar joins from Spruceview Capital Partners, where he was a partner and advisor managing more than $4 billion in assets, and previously held senior roles at J.P. Morgan Chase Retirement Plan, Rho Fund Investors, and University of California Investments, along with growth buyout experience at One Equity and Banc One Capital Partners. He brings more than 30 years of experience in PE, growth equity, VC, and credit, with expertise in technology and artificial intelligence applications in healthcare.

hired Edie Connor as director of executive talent, a newly created role in which she will lead executive sourcing and relationship development to support the firm’s Grant Accelerator operating executive program. Connor joins from Oxeon, a healthcare-focused executive search firm, where she partnered with PE and VC firms on C-suite searches in healthcare technology and services.

hired Patrick Morin as managing director of business development, and he will lead capital formation efforts and build partnerships with investors. Morin joins from Cambridge Associates, where he was managing director overseeing healthcare and regional endowments and foundations client solutions, and previously held roles at Citi, Merrill Lynch, and Morgan Stanley across investment banking, wealth advisory, and alternative investments. He brings more than 25 years of industry experience and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.

added Jeff Hawkins as head of its Portfolio Resources Group, and he will partner with Co-Presidents David Schuppan and Phil Alphonse to help portfolio companies drive operational transformation and long-term value creation. Hawkins previously held senior leadership roles at TPG, AON, and Alix Partners and brings more than 20 years of experience in operational transformation and revenue growth across technology, healthcare, and professional services; he previously served as interim chief revenue officer at a $1.3 billion healthcare services company and as CEO of a $70 million enterprise technology company.

Mill Point Capital has hired Michael Kaplan as managing partner, bolstering its investment leadership team as the firm seeks to expand its lower-middle-market investment platform. Kaplan brings more than 25 years of private equity experience, most recently serving as a managing director and investment committee member at Littlejohn & Co., where he spent more than two decades leading investments and overseeing portfolio companies. He previously worked at Ripplewood Holdings, focusing on domestic and international private equity investments, and earlier served as an attorney at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and an analyst at Bear Stearns.

Real Estate

tapped Jeremy Goldberg as managing director and CIO, and he will lead the firm’s capital markets and transactions team and oversee lender relationships and debt strategy. Goldberg joins from StepStone Group, where he led relationships with major public pension clients as a multifamily specialist, and previously led corporate finance and investor relations at Associated Estates Realty, a publicly traded apartment REIT. He brings 30 years of experience in institutional investment advisory, multifamily real estate, and banking.

added Adam Lerer as managing director of investments, and he will source, structure, and execute opportunities for the firm’s real estate strategies. Lerer joins from PIMCO Prime Real Estate, where he was head of the Special Situations Group, America, overseeing debt restructuring for a $14 billion portfolio, and previously served as head of acquisitions, America. He earlier held roles at Decron Properties, Norges Bank Investment Management, and Goldman Sachs, and brings nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience.

TGM hired Tim Anderson to lead its institutional business development and capital formation initiatives. A seasoned business development executive, he held senior roles at a number of alternative investment firms including Stark Investments, Trian Credit Partners, 3i Capital, Macquarie, One William Street Capital Management and Marquee Capital, a real estate investment firm within the Marcus Family Office. His experience spans multi-strategy hedge funds, private credit, real estate, and other alternative investment strategies.

Stream Realty Partners named Shawn Kimble executive managing director of its investment management platform, and he will work with CIO Adam Jackson on capital formation, investment strategy, and new product development. Kimble joins from Barings, where he was head of U.S. and European capital markets and strategy for the firm’s global real estate platform and previously served as chief operating officer of U.S. real estate, leading a capital markets team that oversaw more than $35 billion in leverage execution. He earlier worked in real estate capital markets at Wells Fargo and brings nearly two decades of institutional real estate investment experience.

American Healthcare REIT named Ann Lacey executive vice president, asset management, senior housing, and appointed Joshua Miller vice president of investments, senior housing. Lacey joins from , where she was managing director of healthcare, overseeing a senior housing portfolio exceeding $2 billion, and previously spent more than 11 years at Sunrise Senior Living, most recently as vice president of operations and performance improvement; she will oversee day-to-day asset management for the company’s senior housing operating properties. Miller joins from RSF Partners, where he spent nearly seven years sourcing and closing senior housing acquisitions, and will focus on transaction execution for senior housing acquisitions and dispositions.

Sentinel Net Lease tapped Nikolas Mirando as vice president of innovation, and he will lead data infrastructure, investor reporting, and applied AI initiatives across the firm’s acquisition, asset management, and investor relations functions. Mirando joins from Kayne Anderson Real Estate, where he was an associate focused on sustainability and designed a Power BI reporting platform covering more than 1,100 assets, and previously worked in data management at Verdani Partners and in energy and sustainability analysis at Fairstead.

Real Assets

Vision Ridge Partners named Jason O’Briant head of portfolio talent, a newly created position in which he will build a talent function for portfolio companies focused on senior leadership assessment, hiring, succession planning, and organizational design. O’Briant joins from O’Briant Advisory, an independent advisory firm he founded for private-equity-backed companies, and previously was managing director of human resources at Blackstone; he also spent nearly 16 years at Pfizer in senior human resources and organizational effectiveness roles and brings more than 30 years of experience in the field.

Newcore Capital named Beatrice Hollond as chairwoman. She brings with her over four decades of experience across asset management, public markets, private wealth, charity and corporate governance. She succeeds Andrew Baum, who transitioned from chairman to senior advisor in January this year. Hollond’s early career included over 15 years at Credit Suisse Asset Management, finishing as managing director of Global Fixed Income, having entered the financial services industry as an equity analyst at Morgan Grenfell.

Credit

Arini named Ben Kenstler head of Hybrid Capital as part of the $20 billion firm’s private credit team. He will serve on Arini’s Private Credit Investment Committees and contribute meaningfully to Arini’s existing investment strategies. Kenstler spent 18 years at Bain Capital, most recently as partner within the European Private Equity Team. At Bain, he was involved in wide range of investment activities and held a number of board roles for the firm’s portfolio companies.

Callodine Group named Will Karim general counsel, and he will oversee the firm’s legal function and join its senior leadership team. Karim joins from First Eagle Alternative Credit, where he had served as deputy general counsel and head of legal since 2017, managing fund formation, regulatory matters, and M&A, and previously was counsel at Keurig Green Mountain and practiced leveraged finance at Proskauer Rose and Mayer Brown. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in alternative credit and asset management.

Seeders

Taproot Capital welcomed Harry Bromley-Davenport as partner, and he will lead capital raising for portfolio funds and cultivate relationships with prospective investors across the U.S. Bromley-Davenport joins from Rede Partners, where he was a director on the Americas coverage team, and brings more than a decade of private markets experience working with PE and alternative investment managers on capital deployment for ultra-high-net-worth clients, pension funds, and corporate clients.
