Broken Hill Gold (ASX:BH6) reports a 160% increase in its Vertigo oxide indicated resource to 24,300 ounces gold at the White Dam Gold-Copper Project in South Australia.
The updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) brings the global project resource to about 120,000 ounces gold, a 20% increase in total ounces, with indicated oxide contained ounces rising to 44,000 ounces.
The Vertigo deposit now contains 2.30 million tonnes (Mt) @ 0.74g/t gold (Au) for 54,795 ounces, against the previous 2020 estimate of 1.7Mt at 0.7g/t Au for 38,300 ounces.
The resource comprises 1.43Mt @ 0.53g/t Au indicated and 867,200 tonnes @ 1.09g/t Au inferred, with mineralisation outcropping or shallow and within an existing Mining Lease.
The company completed 279 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 13,430m during 2025–2026, representing 51% of the metres underpinning the MRE, using a 0.20g/t gold cut-off within an optimised open-pit shell extending about 95m below surface.
The orebody is a thick, flat-dipping tabular zone with gold and copper grades increasing with depth, and remains open down dip beyond current pit limits. Eight exploration holes are planned over a 650m strike length to test extensions 200m down dip.
Managing Director Matthew Boyes says the sulphide gold potential is the developing story at White Dam.
“We know from cyanide leach work previously carried out that nearly all the gold is recoverable from a finely ground sample, similar to standard CIL circuits all over Australia,” Boyes adds.
“We now have three major targets to follow up: Icebreaker, Vertigo sulphide, which I am confident we will demonstrate has significant open pit-able potential, and Hannaford sulphide, which has excellent gold grades identified in previous drilling directly below the pit floor.”
A second multipurpose RC and diamond rig has been mobilised. Mining studies are under way to evaluate restarting the Vertigo pit for oxide heap leach extraction, with a Prefeasibility Study to follow once remaining oxide resources are drilled.
Broken Hill Gold completed a $13 million placement in September 2026 to fund exploration and restart activities. The company is drilling shallow oxide mineralisation at Hannaford East before testing the Vertigo Deeps sulphide target and Rolling oxide zone.
White Dam sits 80km west of Broken Hill in South Australia’s Curnamona Province. The project benefits from established infrastructure, including open-pit mines, a heap leach facility, and a gold extraction plant.
Broken Hill Gold, formerly Pacgold, is an Australian gold development and exploration company focused on generating near-term revenue and cash flow.
