In the newly released official video game, FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition, developers working with FIFA took the fantasy a step further. They inexplicably rendered a massive, soaring urban skyline right behind the stadium’s southwestern gap…an area that, in the real world, looks out at a parking lot and California’s Great America. It wasn’t the San Francisco skyline, and it wasn’t near San Jose. It was a completely fabricated metropolis, proving FIFA would rather invent a fake city than admit our stadium is in Santa Clara.
