Gavan’s CT125 HUNTER Cub(Trail125)
It’s been about five years since the CT125 HUNTER Cub(Trail125) was launched, and various parts makers have released a wide range of custom upgrades. This bike has already installed the newly released upside-down fork stem kit from OVER Racing—a surprising product that just came out. To match his ideal color scheme, the owner combined it with stock Grom gold front forks and added an Ohlins damping kit.
The upgrades don’t stop at the front end. The stock engine comes in silver, but when installing a Takegawa big bore kit and a hydro clutch conversion kit to switch to manual operation, the owner blacked out the cases and cylinder. Even the brake calipers were detailed with custom-painted logos. There are no unfinished spots here—it’s all been carefully thought through. His hobby of building scale models clearly honed the precision needed to pull this off. In fact, when it came time to lace up the spokes for the RCB aluminum rims, he first practiced on a CT125 model kit before tackling the real wheels!
The owner originally rode an MTX, and at one point even molded FRP parts to recreate the Kamen Rider Kuuga “Trychaser” machine. That off-road influence comes through here as well, though with a carefully balanced mix of colors and components that create a unique overall look. And it’s not just for show—this is a build that balances style with real usability. Even for Cub meetings a little distance from home, he has no trouble riding there himself.
Handlebar
ZETA EXPLORER handlebars feature a tidy instrument setup. Napoleon NA-018 mirrors—designed in collaboration with world-renowned builder 46works—add a tasteful finishing touch.
Bodywork
A DEWALT tool box mounted at the rear ensures durability, waterproofing, and enough space for long-distance touring, perfect for those Cub meetings held far from home.
Engine
SP Takegawa 145cc kit with 4-valve head.
Engine cases blacked out with a combination of GUN-KOTE and urethane paint, heat-cured in a toaster oven. The result is a well-defined, tightly finished engine area.
Chassis
RCB 2.50 aluminum rims front and rear, fitted with SHINKO SR244 (4.60-17) tires, give the bike a powerful presence and an almost trail-bike silhouette.
OVER Racing upside-down fork stem kit paired with stock Grom forks, fitted with an Ohlins damping kit.
The bike uses Brembo brakes.
KOHKEN Evotech rotors (F260mm / R220mm) with two-piston calipers front and rear.
Swingarm is an OVER Racing Type 6 with a black GUN-KOTE finish, keeping the off-road feel intact. Rear suspension matches the front with Ohlins HO029 shocks.
