Uphill Village Academy has once again earned the prestigious School Games Gold Mark Award, which celebrates schools for their commitment to sport, physical activity, and competition both within school and the wider community.
Sam Hodder, principal of Uphill Village Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive the School Games Gold Mark Award for the third consecutive year.
“This achievement is a wonderful reflection of the enthusiasm, commitment and hard work of our pupils and staff.”
The School Games Mark is an annual, government-led award scheme run by the Youth Sport Trust.
It sets rigorous criteria for schools, including participation in intra- and inter-school sports, promoting inclusive opportunities, and developing pupil leadership in physical activity.
Mr Hodder said: “We believe that sport plays an important role in helping children develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of being active.
“It is particularly pleasing to see so many of our pupils getting involved, trying new activities and supporting one another, whatever their ability or experience.”
