Circle CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen Stepping Down As Company Begins Search For Successor

Circle Internet Group has announced that Jeremy Fox-Geen will step down as Chief Financial Officer after more than five years in the role, beginning a leadership transition after helping guide the stablecoin and blockchain infrastructure company through its public offering and a period of substantial growth.

Fox-Geen will remain CFO through the end of December 2026 unless a successor is appointed earlier, allowing him to support the transition to the company’s next finance chief.

Circle has begun a search for its next CFO with assistance from a leading executive search firm.

Fox-Geen joined Circle in May 2021 and has played a central role in building the company’s finance organization.

His tenure included navigating Circle’s $1.2 billion initial public offering and supporting more than five years of growth across the business.

The CFO transition comes as Circle continues expanding the infrastructure surrounding its stablecoins and blockchain-based financial products.

Circle operates a financial platform built around programmable blockchain infrastructure, digital assets, and payment applications.

Its portfolio includes USDC, the Circle Payments Network for global money movement, and Arc, an enterprise-grade blockchain that Circle is developing as an economic operating system for internet-based financial activity.

Fox-Geen’s tenure covered a significant period in the development of the digital asset industry, including market volatility, changing regulatory conditions, institutional adoption, and Circle’s transition into a publicly traded company.

Building the financial organization needed to support that growth involved both traditional public-company requirements and the complexities associated with operating a blockchain-based financial infrastructure business.

Circle did not announce an interim CFO, indicating that Fox-Geen is expected to continue performing his existing responsibilities during the search unless the company appoints a successor before year-end.

The transition gives Circle several months to identify a new finance leader while maintaining continuity across financial reporting, investor relations, capital planning, and other corporate finance functions.

Circle’s next CFO will inherit a company increasingly focused on expanding stablecoin-based payments and financial infrastructure globally.

USDC sits at the center of that strategy, while Circle is also broadening the technology and services built around the stablecoin through payment networks, developer tools, blockchain infrastructure, and enterprise products.

Fox-Geen said he intends to take a break before beginning his next professional chapter.

Circle co-founder, Chairman, and CEO Jeremy Allaire credited Fox-Geen with helping build the company through periods of both significant market disruption and rapid expansion.

KEY QUOTES:

“Jeremy has played a key role in building Circle into the company it is today. He brought strategic insight, financial leadership, and operating discipline through periods of both market turmoil and tremendous growth. We are grateful for all he has done for Circle. We wish him the best.”

I have the greatest of confidence in the company’s future, and I look forward to watching the team’s continued success.”
