Watchmaker Audemars Piguet Launches New Jewelry Collection

Watchmaker Audemars Piguet has unveiled Royal Oak Joaillerie, drawing on its classic timepiece design to produce a collection of cuffs, necklaces and earrings.

The Royal Oak collection takes inspiration from the Vallée de Joux in the Swiss Jura mountains, where Audemars Piguet has been based since 1875, the Swiss company said last week. The pieces combine elements of watchmaking and jewelry, incorporating architectural lines and contemporary design.

The collection comprises three lines: Dream of Joux, Risoud Eclipse and Frosted Gold. Dream of Joux reflects the valley’s frozen lakes, night skies and floral landscape. The line includes one-of-a-kind 18-karat white, yellow and pink gold cuffs, along with a tie necklace and matching earrings featuring pear-shaped diamonds, blue titanium and sapphires.

Risoud Eclipse references the region’s history of celestial observation, combining black physical vapor deposition (PVD) titanium with sugarloaf emeralds and brilliant-cut diamonds in its inaugural necklace and matching cuff.

Frosted Gold features cuffs and necklaces in 18-karat white, pink and yellow gold. The finish employs a Florentine technique developed with jewelry designer Carolina Bucci in 2016 to mark Royal Oak’s 40th anniversary.

Audemars Piguet debuted the original Royal Oak sports watch, designed by Gérald Genta, in 1972. It became known for its distinctive geometry, polished and satin finishes, and play of light across its case and bracelet. Its connection to jewelry and sports-watch design provides the inspiration for the Royal Oak Joaillerie collection, which revisits these elements through a series of fine-jewelry pieces.

“A gateway to the past and the future, the Royal Oak Joaillerie collection embodies Audemars Piguet’s free spirit,” said CEO Ilaria Resta. “Jewelry has always played an important role in the company’s history. We continue to explore this creative realm alongside our core watchmaking activity to fuel our imagination, revisit our codes and enhance our approach to creation and expression.”
