Grand Theft Auto VI is almost here, with a little over one month to go until Rockstar Games’ latest behemoth release lands on November 19.
You may find yourself at somewhat of a crossroads in the meantime.
There are plenty of incredible new games releasing in October, just as there were in September, with everything trying to steer clear of GTA VI’s path.
You may not want to commit to Silent Hill: Townfall or Gears of war: E-Day though, worried you may not roll credits in time for GTA VI – nor may you want to splash any extra cash.
With that in mind, here are six free games you can not only complete but platinum in time for GTA VI’s arrival on PlayStation Plus, as reccomended by the community.
Crow Country – Extra Tier Catalogue
Time to Platinum: 8-9 Hours

SFB Games
Crow Country feels very much like a PlayStation 1 title, making it perfect for those who can only handle horror games of the polygonal variety.
Set in 1990 and developed by SFB Games, the game centres around the disappearance of Edward Crow and the subsequent abrupt closure of his theme park.
You’ll explore said theme park, searching for clues and solving puzzles that may help you understand what went down in what’s described as “a tale of reckless hubris and human greed”.
Unpacking – Extra Tier Catalogue
Time to Platinum: 4-5 Hours

Humble Bundle
If the horror of Crow Country isn’t for you, cozy vibes await in hit indie Unpacking.
Developed by Witch Beam, this one’s a puzzler that unsurprisingly centres around the idea of unpacking.
You move into a new home and room by room, you must arrange your belongings. As such, devs describe it as “part block-fitting puzzle” and “part home decoration”.
Deliver Us The Moon – Extra Tier Catalogue
Time to Platinum: 8 Hours

Wired Productions
Developer KeokeN Interactive’s sci-fi thriller Deliver Us The Moon is a perfect quick play, taking players to an apocalyptic future where Earth’s natural resources are completely depleted.
In response, the World Space Agency colonised the moon after discovering a new source of energy upon it, but all communication from the colony soon ceased.
That’s where you come in. You’ll step into the shoes of an astronaut who’s sent to the moon as humanity’s last hope.
There, accompanied by a robot by the name of ASE, you’ll piece together what went wrong, looking for clues and solving puzzles.
It’s very much a cinematic feeling game, with both third and first person segments.
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus – Premium Tier Catalogue
Time to Platinum: 8-9 Hours

Sony Interactive Entertainment
While GTA VI will prove what modern technology is capable of, it might be nice to go back and remind yourself where it all began with a retro PlayStation classic.
It shouldn’t take you long to speed through the brilliant Sly Cooper and Thievius Raccoonus. It’s worlds apart from developer Sucker Punch’s recent Ghost games.
In this stealth platfromer, you’ll infiltrate a number of high security locations. It’s the PS2 game you know and love, albeit with enhanced rendering and the addition of rewind, quick save, and custom video filters.
Skate Story – Extra Tier Catalogue
Time to Platinum: 12 Hours

Devolver Digital
You don’t need to be an avid skateboarding fan to get a kick out of Sam Eng’s brilliant Skate Story which first landed last year, in 2025.
Here, you’ll embody a demon of the Underworld, made of glass and pain, who’s been gifted a skateboard by the Devil himself.
It’s the Devil so, of course, this gift comes with a caveat. If you can skate to the moon and swallow it, you’ll be freed from your miserable existence within the Underworld.
You’ll need to ollie, kickflip, and grind your way through The Emptylands in this short but engaging experience.
Venba – Extra Tier Catalogue
Time to Platinum: 2 Hours

Visai Games
Venba is one of the shortest games on PlayStation Plus and also one of the most delightful.
Created by Visai Games, it’s a narrative cooking game that follows an Indian family who move to Canada.
You’ll chart the family’s experiences of migrating and settling into their new life, with South Indian food very much being at the heart of everything they do.
Between story beats, players will have to carefully prepare meals in order to progress. It’s a moving game that’ll stay with you long after the credits roll.
