Chainlink Partners With LG CNS To Power Korea’s Digital Asset Market

Chainlink is partnering with LG CNS, which is leading the Bank of Korea’s Project Hangang digital currency platform, to build regulated digital asset solutions with LG CNS while advancing technical standards in Korea.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Chainlink, the industry-standard oracle platform, and LG CNS, a leading AI Transformation and IT service company in Korea and the technology arm of LG Group, have entered a strategic partnership to advance the infrastructure underpinning Korea’s $68 billion digital asset market.

Under the official partnership, LG CNS and Chainlink are expanding the utility and distribution of Korean stablecoins, a digital asset market with more than 11 million eligible users. The partnership also brings the full Chainlink platform into LG CNS’s ongoing work in building digital asset platform solutions for Korean institutions and establishes a joint collaboration on advancing technical standards underpinning Korea’s digital asset economy.

This development comes as Korea enters a new phase of digital asset adoption. Korea is Asia’s second-largest digital asset market, with the Korean won consistently ranking as the second highest trading volume within the crypto market, just after the U.S. dollar. This combination of market scale, digital asset participation, and stablecoin demand makes Korea a key market for institutional digital asset infrastructure.

The strategic partnership between Chainlink and LG CNS covers three core areas:

  • Oracle infrastructure for the LG CNS Digital Asset Platform Solution: Chainlink’s cross-chain, data, and orchestration infrastructure are enhancing LG CNS’ digital asset platform solution by supporting secure connectivity across blockchain networks and institutional systems.
  • Advancing Korea’s digital asset framework: Chainlink and LG CNS are combining their expertise to help define the next generation of technical standards underpinning Korea’s digital asset economy.
  • Building solutions for Korean institutions: Chainlink and LG CNS are combining their institutional and technical expertise to advance the oracle, interoperability, and cross-chain standards needed to scale regulated digital assets across Korea.

“Korea is one of the most active and technologically advanced digital asset markets in the world, and LG CNS is at the core of its financial infrastructure evolution. By combining LG CNS’s institutional expertise with Chainlink’s technology standards, this partnership establishes the foundation for compliant digital asset infrastructure in Korea. Together, LG and Chainlink are providing Korean institutions with a secure and reliable foundation for moving tokenized money across systems and networks.” — Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer, Chainlink Labs

“Korea’s financial infrastructure is entering the tokenization era. LG CNS is committed to leading this transition, and together with Chainlink, we aim to accelerate the growth of Korea’s tokenized securities market by enabling secure interoperability and real-world data, while creating a foundation for global expansion.” — Hongkeun Kim, Executive Vice President and head of Digital Business Division at LG CNS.

LG CNS is at the center of Korea’s technology and financial infrastructure, sitting as part of LG Group, one of Korea’s largest business groups with ₩186 trillion in assets across 63 affiliates and a combined market cap of over $100 billion across all subsidiaries.

The company also serves as the lead contractor for the Bank of Korea’s flagship digital currency initiative, Project Hangang, responsible for building, operating, and expanding the country’s digital currency infrastructure. The project’s first phase involved approximately 80,000 customers across seven Korean banks. LG CNS is now looking to integrate Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure into its digital asset platform solution to establish itself as one of the country’s most experienced builders of institutional digital currency systems.
