Candriam has announced the consolidation of its alternative investments into a single platform.
The move aims to harness the expertise of its diverse teams in absolute return quantitative equity, quantitative multi-asset and multi-management, under one unified division.
The platform, managing over €23 billion in assets, focuses on delivering positive returns across various market cycles and integrating ESG principles into its investment strategies.
Steeve Brument, with a 25-year industry career, has been appointed as the global head of alternatives. He will oversee the team of 34 investment professionals and report to Nicolas Forest, CIO at Candriam.
Grégoire Thomas, with over two decades of experience in index arbitrage and market neutral strategies, is appointed as head of equity market neutral within this division. He succeeds Emmanuel Terraz, who leaves after a 20-year tenure at Candriam.
Candrian said the new platform aligns with its commitment to innovation and responsible investing, responding to the rising demand for diverse alternative investment solutions. It also encompasses the firm’s alternative credit strategies, part of its broader fixed income offering, to leverage cross-departmental strengths.
Nicolas Forest, CIO of Candriam, said, “The unification of our alternative investments represents an exciting evolution for Candriam, bringing together our deep expertise across different teams and solutions. Our aim is to provide even richer insights and more innovative alternative solutions to our clients.”
