Nepali Army claims third gold in Cambrian Patrol 2024

The Nepali Army (NA) has won the gold medal at the prestigious Cambrian Patrol Exercise 2024, held in Wales, United Kingdom. Competing against 121 international teams from 37 countries, including the UK, the NA squad triumphed in one of the most grueling military exercises, the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information said.

The event took place from October 9 to 11 across the challenging terrain of the Brecon Beacons. Participants were tasked with completing a 50-kilometer course in two days while carrying around 50 pounds of gear, including weapons and other logistics. Throughout the course, teams were tested on various military skills, such as combat preparedness, intelligence gathering, and the management of injuries and illnesses.

The Cambrian Patrol Exercise is an annual event that has been running since 1960. The Nepali Army has been a regular participant since 2014, and this year marks its third gold medal, having previously secured victories in 2017 and 2019.

Major General Deepak Kumar Baniya of the Nepali Army attended as a distinguished guest during the award ceremony.
