Blackstone, a U.S. alternative investment management company that rolls KRW 1,800 trillion, held a “Global Investment Insight Dialogue” on the 5th for university students in Jeonju with the National Pension Service.

The meeting was held to provide opportunities for local university students and officials from domestic and foreign financial institutions to broaden their understanding of the global financial market and to increase their expertise in fund management by interacting with global investment experts.

The talks were held one-on-one by Lee Kyu-hong, head of the National Pension Fund Management Division, and John Gray, president and chief operating officer of Blackstone.

The two discussed the global macroeconomic environment, financial market prospects, investment opportunities and risk factors for each major asset group, and long-term investment strategies.

About 200 people attended the meeting, including Kim Sung-joo, chairman of the National Pension Service, executives and employees of the corporation’s headquarters, officials from domestic and foreign financial institutions with offices in Jeonju, and university students in Jeollabuk-do.

President Gray also advised college students attending the conference to “stay calm, stay positive, and never give up.”

A university student who attended the event said, “There are not many opportunities to meet global financial leaders in the region, and this meeting allowed us to broaden our perspective on the global financial market.”
