A Bit of Jewelry for the Year of the Horse

Happy Lunar New Year!

In the Lunar calendar, 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse and jewelry designers are embracing equestrian themes.

Horse and horseshoe motifs aren’t new in jewelry, but their use is increasing, in part due to the continuing popularity of Western wear.

The trend was ignited by Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter” tour last year, with bolo ties and the use of leather increasing, and has expanded to include horse and horseshoe motifs and pieces like Marie Lichtenberg’s bejeweled bandana, which debuted at Couture in 2025.

According to ChineseNewYear.net, the Year of the Horse symbolizes adventure, vitality, and momentum.

It follows the Year of the Snake, which made snake motifs trendy again with antique and vintage-inspired jewelry at the forefront, and precedes the Year of the Goat.

Jump on the equestrian trend with these 20 selects featuring horses, horseshoes, bits, stirrups, and even a horse-drawn carriage.
