Creators and brands across the city have released special items to honor the NBA team’s first championship win in 53 years, including fine jewelry designer Bernard James.
“I wanted to create a piece of memorabilia that commemorates this incredible moment for the city. As a born and raised New Yorker, being a Knicks fan is in my blood, and the unifying energy in the city was unmatched,” said James.
The “Knickerbockers Victory Band” edition of the Aura ring splits the eternity band with the team’s colors—half blue sapphire and half orange sapphire—set in 18-karat yellow gold.
Only four pieces were produced, an ode to the number of games the Knicks won in the championship finals.
“I chose to animate the Aura ring because of its timelessness and, more specifically, wearability,” said James.
“Memories are made to be carried with you. So, creating a single item that can easily be stacked and worn seamlessly in one of two color options allows for that.”
The ring retails for $5,500 and is available until the 4 pieces sell out on the Bernard James website.
