Cartier stands proudly as a brand that manages to cause a stir at Watches and Wonders, but it does so with a certain je ne sais quoi that no other brand can achieve. There’s rarely any over-the-top fanfare, as such, and as a result, watch enthusiasts tend to subtly acknowledge its new releases with quiet, respect-filled desire. However, it’s still very clear that there’s always great depth and consideration that goes into the new releases. This year, Cartier sees the return of the Roadster, a model steeped in mid-2000’s appeal that almost got lost as the naughties fashions have shifted far away. It’s been revived with a look that makes it appear as if it never left, alongside a Santos that looks decidedly grown-up. So, is 2026 the year of the bigger, more mature Cartier? Let’s find out.
Cartier Roadster
- The Roadster returns with a streamlined look, taking cues from the world of automotive design, including a reworked iconic dial.
- Available in steel, two-tone steel and gold, or full yellow gold, the Roadster arrives on a new 3-link bracelet or a sleek new rubber strap.
- There are two Roadster sizes to choose from: 47 x 38mm, or 42.5 x 34.9mm, powered by the automatic 1847MC and 1899MC manufacture movements, respectively.
Cartier Santos-Dumont
- Cartier’s Santos-Dumont has been refined with the addition of a silky smooth multi-link bracelet, reminiscent of the first made-to-measure bracelets from the 1920s.
- Available in yellow gold and platinum, the new models are perfectly proportioned, measuring 43.5mm x 31.4mm and just 7.3mm thick.
- Two dials appear with a silvered satin finish and a sunray effect, while one of the gold models is adorned with gilded obsidian, revered for the iridescent reflections caused by tiny bubbles trapped in the stone.
Cartier Tortue
- Cartier unveils 5 new Tortue models, featuring a case profile designed to be slightly more rounded, with softer, more generous lines.
- The Tortue brings new finishes: firstly, the typical yellow gold, then diamond-encrusted rhodium-plated white gold, rose gold, and platinum.
- Finally, the Tortue is available in white or yellow gold as a Métiers d’Art Tortue special, featuring Champlevé enamel on both the case and the dial, which is also adorned with precious gems.
Cartier Privé Opus
- Cartier’s Privé returns, focusing on the Tank Normale, Tortue Chronographe Monopoussoir, and the iconic Crash Squelette.
- All three Privé models are finished in the signature platinum case material and feature burgundy detailing, classic blued-steel hands, and a ruby cabochon.
- Finally, the Privé collection celebrates its 10th anniversary with a selection of yellow-gold Cartier classics labelled La Collection: the Tank Normale, Cloche de Cartier, and a Tank Cintrée.
Cartier Baignoire
- For 2026, the Baignoire has received a refreshing new aesthetic, in the form of the emblematic Clous de Paris motif across the entire surface of the watch.
- There are two new Baignoire models, the first in clean, plain yellow gold, allowing the Clous de Paris motif to take centre stage, while the second is set with 100 brilliant-cut diamonds.
- To make way for the new finish, the Baignoire’s oval case has been carefully adjusted, bringing the sophisticated proportions to 24.6 x 19.3 mm across, and 7.5 mm thick.
Cartier Myst
- Finally, to round off Cartier’s 2026 releases, is the most jewellery-focused piece of the year: the Myst de Cartier.Â
- A sculpture for the wrist, the Myst has no clasp and is strung together in a bead-like construction with tiny dials set with 47 snow-cut diamonds.
- The yellow gold model features black lacquered sections paired with 634 brilliant-cut diamonds, while the white gold version features a staggering 986 brilliant-cut diamonds.
