Chennai Gold Price Today: Yellow Metal Continues To Shine Above Rs 14,400 Per Gram In Jewellery Stores

Gold prices in Chennai remained elevated on Saturday, with the yellow metal continuing its strong rally across major jewellery chains in Tamil Nadu. The price of 22-carat gold hovered above Rs 14,400 per gram in most leading jewellery stores, while 24-carat gold crossed Rs 15,700 per gram in several outlets.

The sustained rise in bullion prices comes amid firm global trends, steady investor demand, and ongoing uncertainty in international markets. Silver prices too remained high, trading around Rs 290 per gram in many jewellery stores across Chennai.

On Saturday, 22-carat gold in Chennai hovered above Rs 14,400/gram and 24-carat gold above Rs 15,700/gram, while Tamil Nadu bullion rates reached Rs 15,927/gram for 24K and Rs 14,600/gram for 22K, driven by global factors.

According to rates listed by major jewellers, GRT Jewellers priced 24-carat gold at Rs 15,704 per gram and 22-carat gold at Rs 14,385 per gram. The store also listed 18-carat gold at Rs 11,778 and 14-carat gold at Rs 9,161 per gram.

Meanwhile, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers quoted slightly higher rates, with 24-carat gold at Rs 15,775 per gram and 22-carat gold at Rs 14,450 per gram. The retailer fixed silver prices at Rs 290 per gram.

Lalitha Jewellery also maintained the 22-carat gold rate at Rs 14,450 per gram, matching the prices quoted by several major retailers in the city. Saravana Stores Elite Jewellery listed 22-carat gold at Rs 14,445 per gram and 18-carat gold at Rs 11,828.

Among the prominent retailers, Swarna Maligai quoted one of the highest prices for 22-carat gold at Rs 14,750 per gram. The store’s 18-carat gold rate stood at Rs 12,310 per gram, while silver was sold at Rs 290.

Jewellery buyers and traders are closely watching bullion movements as prices remain near record highs. Market experts say the ongoing global economic uncertainty, fluctuations in the US dollar, and strong safe-haven demand are continuing to support gold prices internationally.

According to the latest Tamil Nadu bullion data, 24-carat gold was priced at Rs 15,927 per gram, while 22-carat gold stood at Rs 14,600 per gram.

Silver prices in the bullion market remained around Rs 272 per gram for 999 fine silver, while sterling silver was priced at Rs 252 per gram.

In Coimbatore, Kota Gold Jewellery quoted even higher prices, with 24-carat gold touching Rs 16,309 per gram and 22-carat gold at Rs 14,950 per gram. Silver in the city was sold at Rs 305 per gram.

Jewellers expect demand to remain steady in the coming weeks as wedding purchases and festive buying continue to support retail sales despite the steep prices.
