Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White are now back with the Indiana Fever after a successful Team USA stint. The 6-foot guard was integral to the national team’s gold medal win at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, while White served as an assistant coach.
The three-time WNBA All-Star provided a crucial scoring spark in the championship game. In just 13 minutes, she scored 12 points and dished out three assists. Team USA defeated France, 97-79, to win its fifth straight World Cup gold medal.

Clark averaged 7.8 points and 5.3 assists in her first World Cup with the senior national team. Coach White was with her throughout the tournament, guiding her along the way.
The 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year made her opinion of Clark’s performance in the World Cup very clear.
“It was really great,” White told reporters Wednesday at the 9:40 mark. “You could tell the way she was able to change the game with her pace.
“… I thought her floor game was outstanding. I mean, the way that she got everybody involved was outstanding. And you could see her confidence continue to grow as the tournament progressed.

“And that shot that she hit right before halftime against France was a momentum-changing shot. She stepped up and she knocked it down.”

The Fever coach praised both Clark and USA teammate Aliyah Boston for their contributions to the gold medal run.
“I’m really proud of her — both these guys,” White said. “They contributed in incredibly meaningful ways and walked away champions.”
Indiana will resume WNBA action on Friday when they face the Toronto Tempo at the Coca-Cola Coliseum. The Fever look to improve on their 26-14 record with four games left in the regular season.
