Exaequo Releases Limited-edition Rose Gold Melting Watch

Unless you’ve got a six-figure sum sitting in your bank account, then a Cartier Crash is out of the question for even the most seasoned collectors. While there’s been many reiterations of the iconic model (levels of success debatable), Swiss brand Exaequo has managed to hold its own on the Surrealist playing field with the aptly named Melting Watch.

The model now returns in two striking limited editions, each restricted to just 101 numbered pieces. For the first time, the brand’s flowing, ‘hypermelted’ case design is paired with an iridescent rose gold dial and a stainless steel bracelet.

Capturing the essence of wearable art, the dream-like curves are mirrored in this new soft, rosy face which shifts in tone with the light, contrasted by classic black Roman numerals and distinctive hands.

The asymmetrical case – 47mm long and 28mm at its widest – is crafted in either polished 316L stainless steel or satin-finished PVD rose gold. Water-resistant to 30 metres, both feature a domed plexiglass crystal, side crown and a screw-down stainless steel caseback.

Powering the model is the Ronda 751-1 mechanical movement, known for its accuracy and reliability.

A new integrated stainless steel bracelet debuts alongside the watch, available in polished steel or PVD gold. Each bracelet features brushed vertical finishes on the first and fifth links, with mirror-polished central links for a dynamic, sculptural effect. A butterfly clasp with engraved logo ensures a secure, seamless fit.

For those preferring a more traditional finish in keeping with ‘the original’, leather straps with fabric detailing are also available.
