Get the Formula: Addison Rae’s “Desert Rose” Coachella Red

Addison Rae’s ginger journey took a lighter, more vibrant turn when it came to her Coachella 2026 performances, with celebrity colorist Matt Rez “embracing copper while adding super subtle nuances of beige and rose gold,” he says.

Rez, a global color artist for Paul Mitchell Professional, used the brand’s products to create “Desert Rose Red” — warm, layered tones of copper, gold, and rose for a light-reflective finish that popped under the Main Stage lights.

Rae has experimented with red hair across the spectrum, from a barely-there golden ginger for the 2026 Grammys to a deep cherry for her Perfect Magazine cover shoot released in February.

Step by Step: “Desert Rose Red”

Step 1: Prep + Gentle Lift

Prep hair with Malibu C‘s CPR Color Pigment Remover and epres Bond Repair Treatment to softly lift ½ level, focusing on the ends and working upward for a cleaner, more even canvas.

Step 2: Base Color (Lift + Tone)

Apply a custom base to brighten while maintaining warmth. Total processing time: 40 minutes.

At 20 minutes, stretch the formula through the mid-lengths and ends for a soft melt.
