Gold Rules, Vintage Draws Crowds at VicenzaOro September

Long necklaces, lots of gold, and so much vintage: Vicenzaoro September delivered exhibitors and organizers a push into the holidays as well as insights into fine jewelry trends going into the new year.

The Italian Exhibition Group said the trade show had a 4% increase in total visitor numbers and a 9% rise in international attendance compared to its September 2025 edition. The numbers of countries attending also rose 4% compared to last year’s show.

“With 136 countries represented at this edition, including 91 non-European markets, Vicenzaoro is increasingly a truly global platform,” Matteo Farsura, global exhibition manager jewellery & fashion at Italian Exhibition Group tells JCK.

“This geographical breadth is strategically important for our exhibitors because it gives them access to a more diversified range of markets and buyers. In a geopolitical environment characterized by structural uncertainty, international diversification has become a strategic priority for the jewelry industry, and one of our roles is to create the conditions for these different markets to connect in Vicenza,” Farsura notes.

Vintage was a big draw at the VicenzaOro September 2026 show, with crowds circulating around branded jewelry and fine watches.

Among the on-site trends JCK noticed was high attendance in the VO Vintage area, which had an array of branded jewelry from David Webb, Boucheron, and other high-jewelry brands. Watch exhibitors with displays including Rolex, Patek Philippe, and even Swatch with its Royal Pop collaboration saw huge crowds around their cases.

Within the jewelry space, gold was the predominant metal despite its high price. Charms and dainty jewelry were also plentiful as exhibitors undoubtedly sought to offer more moderately priced pieces. Even so, maximalist jewelry was on hand, including longer necklaces from brands such as Mikimoto, Fope, and Picchiotti.

For exhibitors including Picchiotti, showing on an international stage like VicenzaOro provides invaluable access to a global audience. “This year’s edition saw good foot traffic at our booth, accompanied by highly productive business meetings. Once again, the event proved to be a total success, yielding strong commercial results and a valuable stream of new contacts to nurture and develop,” Picchiotti vice president Filippo Picchiotti says.

This ring, a Picchiotti Xpandable ring ($95,550) with 10.09 ct. orange sapphire and diamonds, debuted at the VicenzaOro September show.

One of this September’s highlights was the debut of a new infrastructure at the Vicenza Expo Centre, making it easier to navigate and shop, Farsura says. Buyers explored the entire jewelry value chain within one ecosystem.

“For U.S. buyers in particular, the new layout makes Vicenzaoro an even more effective sourcing experience,” Farsura adds. “The opening of Hall 2 brings into focus the heart of Italian gold and jewelry manufacturing, with an extensive offering of semi-finished products, components, and white-label manufacturing, while improving connections with finished jewelry, gems, packaging and, for the first time in September, T.Gold’s technologies.”

Another highlight, notes Farsura, was the connection to the 100th anniversary of the World Jewellery Federation Congress (CIBJO), which was held within the same facility and brought more than 600 delegates to Vicenza.

“Vicenzaoro is increasingly a place where the industry does business, builds relationships, shares knowledge, and discusses the transformations shaping its future. The decision by CIBJO to celebrate its Centenary Congress in Vicenza, bringing together leading voices from across the global jewelry community, is a significant recognition of this role,” Farsura says. “Our ambition is to continue connecting the right companies, buyers, and markets, while strengthening VicenzaOro’s role as a global meeting point for the jewelry industry.”

IEG’s Jewellery Agenda continues with the JGTD–Jewellery, Gems, and Technology in Dubai from October 27 to 29. In Italy, the jewelry industry will gather in the production districts for the Valenza Gem Forum on October 22 and at the Italian Jewelry Summit in Arezzo on December 3. Vicenzaoro and T.Gold will be back January 15 to 19, 2027. VO Vintage will take place from January 15 to 18, 2027.
