Fortnite: Jar of Dirt Location
Players can seek out a jar of dirt in Fortnite to deliver it to the man who needs it most in the Pirates of the Caribbean collab for some sweet XP.
Aside from changes to the loot pool and additional POIs, the Fortnite x Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration also marks the debut of the Cursed Sails Pass, which can be leveled up by completing the Cursed Sails Quests. One of these quests tasks players with plundering 1,000 Gold Bars, which is quite a milestone, but players can complete this quest quickly if they know where to find them. Here is how to plunder Gold Bars in Fortnite.
There are various ways that players can plunder Gold Bars in Fortnite, with some of the best methods allowing players to do so without the need to take down other players.
Pirates of the Caribbean POIs
One of the best ways for players looking to plunder Gold Bars for the Fortnite x Pirates Of The Caribbean collaboration is to make their way to any of the Pirates Of The Caribbean-themed locations on the map. Each location houses various sacks of gold coins, which can be harvested to acquire a steady stream of Gold Bars. The most obvious location that players may gravitate to is Shipwreck Shallows, which can be found at the center of the Fortnite Island.
However, players can also find a few other pirate-themed landmarks, each of which proves to be an excellent source of Gold Bars. These areas include the pirate ship on the far east side of the map and the secret cave just to the west of it. Jack Sparrow can be found at this location, so be sure to give him a visit.
Weapon Bunkers
The next biggest source of Gold Bars in Fortnite are the Weapon Bunkers, which marked their debut for Chapter 5 Season 2. If players are lucky enough to reach one of the bunkers uncontested, they can find a few stacks of Gold Bars tucked away on the far right side of the bunker entrance. There are nine Weapon Bunkers that can be found on the island, but only six will be open and marked on the map after the third storm circle closes.
Vaults
Unable to head to a Weapon Bunker? Then heading to a vault might be the best course of action. Some of the vaults introduced back in Chapter 5 Season 1 are still on the island, and each contains stacks of Gold Bars that players can harvest. Some of these vaults have even received a pirate-themed makeover, like the one over at Lavish Lair. The vault locations for Chapter 5 Season 3 include the following:
- Lavish Lair
- Estate Station (southeast of Lavish Lair)
- Grand Glacier
- Reckless Railways
- East of Rebel’s Roost
- Coastal Comms (northeast of Classy Courts)

Fortnite: How to Walk the Plank
Players will have to walk the plank in Fortnite in order to complete Cursed Sail Quests – here’s how.
Vending Machines
Another neat trick for gathering lots of Gold Bars is to toss a Shield Breaker EMP at a Vending Machine. Not only is this a great way to plunder Gold Bars quickly, but it’s also a way to recoup some of that hard-earned currency after spending it on healing items and other loot. Vending Machines can be found in almost every major POI on the map, so be sure to head over to them if you have a few Shield Breaker EMPs in tow.
Chests & Cash Registers
The final and the most well-known way that players can acquire lots of Gold Bars is by looting both Chests and Cash Registers. Though both containers do not necessarily offer a large amount of this currency, they are abundant in almost all major POIs, allowing players to passively gather Gold as they play. Safes are another type of container that drops a large sum of Gold Bars in Fortnite. However, they are much harder to come by.
Gold Bars can be plundered by eliminating players but it doens’t grant a substantial amount.
