Patek Philippe Nautilus 50th Anniversary Releases Overview

Tom Austin

Patek Philippe is almost 187 years old, and naturally, that means that several of its models are now reaching significant milestones, too. Like several brands, Patek loves to celebrate anniversaries, although, in the eyes of collectors and enthusiasts alike, these milestone models can sometimes be hit-or-miss. 2026 marks the 50th birthday of a particularly important model for Patek: the iconic Nautilus, and with it comes a trio of references that aim to right the arguably questionable choices of the past. With new, slender cases finished in white gold and platinum, and minimalistic dials that hark back to the model’s glory days, and a wildcard you can’t even wear on your wrist. Has 2026 seen us hit peak Nautilus? There’s a very good chance we may have. Let’s dive in.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 5810/1G-001

  • The 5810/1G-001 has been subtly revised, with a 41mm-diameter case that’s just 6.9mm thick, and finished in white gold; this may be the Nautilus we’ve been waiting for.
  • A theme across Nautilus models this year, the horizontally embossed blue sunburst dial is clean and free of anything the wearer may find distracting; even the seconds hand is missing.
  • The sign says no diving! This new Nautilus can only manage 30 metres of water resistance, with Patek Philippe slowly shaking off the watch’s nautical background in favour of a much more luxurious status.

If you prefer your Nautilus a little on the larger side, but still need it to disappear on the wrist, the new 5810/1G-001 is probably the one for you. Unmistakably, if you take one look at this watch, you’ll know exactly what it is, but if you’re a hardcore Patek Philippe enthusiast, there’s a good chance this new model resonates with you more than ever. The proportions of the white-gold case have been slimmed down considerably, and the sunburst-blue, horizontally embossed dial has been cleaned up completely, essentially bringing Gérald Genta’s original vision for the Nautilus to life. It’s even missing the seconds hand, just as the legendary designer intended. Inside beats the Calibre 240, an ultra-thin automatic micro-rotor first introduced in 1977, which is, of course, beautifully finished and offers a 48-hour power reserve. Finally, the only giveaway that this watch is a 50th-anniversary model is the numbers “50 1976-2026” engraved on the 22-carat gold micro rotor. Much neater than on the dials of the 40th anniversary models.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 5610/1P-001

  • The 5610/1p-001 takes the recipe of the new white gold model and slims it down further, crafted in solid platinum, featuring the signature diamond set at 9 o’clock.
  • At 38mm, the platinum model is a more refined, understated size, suitable for a wider range of collectors.
  • The movement inside the new 38mm Nautilus is the famed Calibre 240, featuring an engraved 22-carat gold micro-rotor and offers a 48-hour power reserve.

It’s fair to say that the 41mm may still be too large for some, even if the new watch is wrist-meltingly slim. If your pockets and dealer allocations allow, there is another Nautilus to choose from: the 5610/1P-001. Sculpted from solid platinum, the 5610 is the smaller, mid-size model of the three releases, coming in at 38mm in diameter while maintaining a 6.9mm thickness. Although thickness is probably not the best word to describe it, because even at that, it’s pretty slim. Overall, these proportions come together for a slightly more cohesive design, which will probably be more versatile. The platinum model is treated to the signature diamond set into the side of the case, and has had the same, fabulous-looking Calibre 240 squeezed into it, offering a 48-hour power reserve from the micro-rotor-driven movement.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 5810G-001

  • The third model in the 50th Anniversary Nautilus trio is the 5810G-001, a white-gold variant that forgoes the full gold bracelet in favour of a sporty navy-blue fabric composite strap.
  • This model features the same minimalistic, clean blue sunburst dial, although it’s gained a set of baguette-cut diamond hour markers.
  • Once again, the 5810G is powered by the Calibre 240 micro-rotor movement.

Perhaps your tastes for Patek Philippe are a little sportier? Well, if so, then the 5810G-001 may be appealing, bringing a slightly less formal look to the Nautilus, with the addition of a composite fabric strap finished in navy blue. There’s a white-gold fold-over clasp to secure it to your wrist, and it adds a totally different dimension to the model with its white contrast stitching and textured surface. The dial has seen a subtle change, too, with the addition of white-gold applied hour markers set with baguette-cut 0.39-carat white diamonds. It’s the kind of Nautilus you’d take on holiday, while the bracelet version might be reserved for boardroom occasions only. The final watch in this anniversary trio is also equipped with the self-winding Calibre 240 micro-rotor movement, visible through the same sapphire caseback fitted to the other models.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 958G-001

  • Finally, the last Nautilus to arrive this year is not a wrist watch at all; it’s an awesome-looking, complicated desk clock.
  • The 50.65mm white gold case is 13.5mm thick and features the signature blue, horizontal embossed dial, set with baguette-cut diamonds.
  • Limited to just 100 pieces, the desk clock features the manually wound Calibre 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J movement, which boasts an 8-day power reserve, indicated on the dial.

And to round out the Nautilus 50th anniversary celebrations, Patek Philippe has done the most Patek thing possible by launching a limited-edition Nautilus desk clock, shaped just like the iconic model. Hinged at the bottom of the case, the case back folds down to allow the clock to stand at an angle on a desk, and there is even a looped section at the top of the case, should you decide to be the most flamboyant version of yourself and wear it as a pocket watch. And that’s not too out of the question, really. While the white gold case is fairly chunky at 50.65mm in diameter, it’s only 13.5mm thick, which isn’t too far off from most wristwatches. The dial is typical Nautilus with the blue, horizontal embossing, but this model takes it one step further, set with baguette-cut diamond hour markers. The movement inside is pretty serious, too, albeit needing a shorter name; the Calibre 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J is manually wound, offers a calendar function and a whopping 8 days of power reserve.
