Sorellina Writes Another Love Letter for ‘Postscript’ Collection

New York—Sorellina has expanded its whimsical “Postscript” collection with four new pieces, released last month.

The new debuts play off some of the best-selling styles from Postscript, which originally launched in May at Couture, with 22 pieces including necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings.

The “Quill” earrings have grown from a drop style to three-tiered chandeliers in two different sizes.

Two one-of-a-kind “Cadence” necklaces turn the original rivière style of the “Postscript” necklace into half-tennis necklaces. One centers a 0.40-carat duchess-cut diamond while another features a 0.76-carat Brazilian emerald.

“Whenever we release a collection, I always feel like there’s more to say … I love coming back to a collection and breathing new life into it, whether that means reimagining an existing piece or following an idea we didn’t get to fully explore the first time around,” said Nicole Carosella, co-founder and designer of Sorellina.

“With Postscript, seeing people stack our original Quill earrings sparked the idea for a tiered, statement version. The Postscript necklace gave us an opportunity to explore a new half-tennis silhouette and play with different stones, shapes, and combinations.”

The Postscript collection first debuted at Couture featuring 18-karat yellow gold paired with diamond, purple spinel, emerald, pink sapphire, and Mali garnet.

It draws inspiration from the intimacy of correspondence through Victorian love letters, hidden messages, and folded paper notes.

The three hero pieces from the collection were all designed to reveal something personal as they open to uncover secret engravings.

There is the “Lucky Letterlock” pendant that begins in a heart shape but once unclasped, unfolds into a clover engraved with lucky symbols.

It was inspired by the Victorian art and ingenuity of letter locking, where letters were folded, tucked, and secured through intricate techniques to protect the message and sender’s privacy.

The “Paper Plane” pendant takes the form of a folded paper airplane. Its hinges open to reveal space for a hidden engraving that is secured closed on the reverse by a miniature Pegasus.

Then there is the “Love Letter” necklace that looks to the intimacy of handwritten notes. It replicates an envelope that opens to show it is holding an engravable, removable heart-shaped letter.

Meanwhile, other designs like the “Love Note” bangle use diamonds to actually write in Morse code or are simply inspired by the rhythmic pattern of Morse code like with the “Cadence” earrings.

Motifs of a Pegasus are seen across multiple pieces, chosen because in mythology the Pegasus is a messenger, Sorellina said, and in the collection is a symbol of movement, magic, and messages carried across time.

Now with a total of 26 pieces in the collection, Carosella said, “There’s still so much of the Postscript story I want to tell, and I don’t think we’re quite finished with it yet.”

The Postscript collection retails from $1,300 to $68,000. The new debuts land mid-range in the collection, retailing from $11,500 to $34,000.

Postscript is available on the Sorellina website.
