Vacheron Constantin is celebrating 30 years of its Overseas collection with a limited-edition Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin featuring a new azure dial and 18K white gold case.
Originally launched in 1996 as a successor to the 222, we’ve seen the Overseas evolve through three generations, expanding from the category-defining sports-chic travel watch into a collection spanning simple timepieces and high complications.
Limited to 200 pieces, the new model brings together the travel-focused character of the Overseas with one of the watchmaker’s most technically impressive complications.
At just 8.1mm thick, the watch is powered by the self-winding Calibre 1120 QP/1, which itself measures only 4.05mm.
The movement combines a perpetual calendar with a moonphase display and automatically accounts for months of different lengths and leap years, requiring no adjustment until 2100.
The new azure dial is lighter and less saturated than the blue introduced to the Overseas collection in 2016, and its lacquered finish is designed to create visual depth, while the matching blue moonphase display adds to the cohesive look.
The 41.5mm white gold case is paired with an integrated white gold bracelet, plus white and denim blue rubber straps that can be changed without tools.
A sapphire caseback offers a view of the 276-component movement, including its 22K gold oscillating weight engraved with a compass rose.
