White Gold Yukon PEA 2026: C$1.9B NPV, 38% IRR, 1.7-Year Payback – News and Statistics

A new preliminary economic assessment for White Gold‘s namesake project in Yukon has assigned it a post-tax net present value of C$1.9 billion, nearly double the estimated initial capital costs, according to a study released Monday and reported by Mining.com. The assessment, discounted at 5%, also shows an after-tax internal rate of return of 38%, initial capital costs of C$1 billion, and a payback period of 1.7 years.

The study positions the project among the top three undeveloped gold projects in Yukon by overall economics, trailing only Snowline Gold’s Valley and Fuerte Metals’ Coffee projects. White Gold shares rose more than 10% to C$2.15 apiece on Monday morning in Toronto, giving the company a market value of about C$434.7 million. The stock has traded in a 12-month range of 42 cents to C$2.38.

The project, located about 95 kilometers south of Dawson City, is estimated to produce 188,000 ounces of gold annually over a nine-year mine life, with all-in sustaining costs of $1,480 per ounce. The mine plan includes the Golden Saddle, Arc, Ryan’s Surprise, and VG deposits, which represent about 60% of White Gold’s total resource estimate from a report issued one year ago. That resource totals 35.1 million indicated tonnes grading 1.53 grams of gold per tonne for 1.73 million ounces, and 32.3 million inferred tonnes at 1.22 grams per tonne for 1.26 million ounces.

White Gold’s CEO, David D’Onofrio, said the maiden PEA is a significant milestone for the company, adding that growth potential exists from previous and ongoing drilling not included in the study, future drilling, and the company’s underexplored district-scale land package in the White Gold district, where investment has been substantial.

The project is not yet road accessible. The company proposes to connect it to the planned 214-kilometer Northern Access Route from Dawson City to neighboring properties. Fuerte Metals awarded Cobalt Construction a contract to build the route in March, and the company will partner with the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation on the project. White Gold is about 33 kilometers north of Coffee.

The study’s gold price assumption of $3,600 per ounce is considerably higher than that used by peer projects.
