Zenith now sells the Defy Skyline Tourbillon in solid rose gold, the first time the line has used that metal since it launched in 2022. The 41mm case, the integrated H-link bracelet and the star shaped rotor visible through the sapphire back are all forged from 18K rose gold. The dial is brick red and repeats the red and white brick wall pattern found on Zenith’s main factory in Le Locle. The watch points straight back to the historic building.
The El Primero 3630 automatic movement beats 36,000 times each hour, runs for 50 hours on full wind and rotates the tourbillon cage once every 60 seconds. The cage weighs only 0.25 grams, proof that Zenith machines parts to tiny tolerances. The movement plates carry 3D laser cut Côtes de Genève stripes that fan out from the tourbillon like sunrays, echoing the star motif engraved on the dial.
Four pointed stars are cut straight into the brick red dial and radiate from the tourbillon window at 6 o’clock. Rose gold faceted hands are filled with Super-LumiNova so the time stays visible in poor light. The engraved stars meet a sunburst base underneath. The dial gains depth where the two surfaces intersect.
The rose gold rotor appears for the first time in the Defy Skyline. It is shaped as an open star and leaves large gaps so the decorated plates beneath remain in view. The rotor receives brushed top surfaces while its edges are polished, the same bright finish used on other parts of the calibre.
The 41mm case uses both brushed and polished finishes on its sharp facets. A screw down crown and sealed construction keep water out to 100 meters. The integrated rose gold bracelet tapers from the case to the folding clasp through H-shaped links. Zenith adds an extra brick red rubber strap that releases without tools through quick release pins.
The Defy Skyline Tourbillon in rose gold is available now at Zenith boutiques and authorized dealers for CHF 89,900, EUR 97,400 or USD 93,300. The steel and titanium Skyline Tourbillon models remain in the catalog beside the new rose gold version.
