New Crypto Bill Draft Will Be Unveiled Soon, GOP Senator Says

One of the Republican senators spearheading efforts to pass an industry-backed measure to regulate cryptocurrency and digital assets said Thursday lawmakers plan to soon release an “updated draft” of the bill that seeks to address members’ concerns over ethics.

Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) has vocally championed the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (H.R. 3633), which the House advanced last year but has remained bogged down in the Senate amid Democratic concerns that the bill does not do enough to prevent public officials such as President Donald Trump from unduly enriching themselves.
