CT Review: I Tried Pot Pot In Palladium Mumbai & Can’t Stop Thinking About The Chicken Biryani!

Pot Pot, a newly opened restaurant in Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel, is just the perfect spot for you to try some of the best Indian cuisine. I went and tried their menu, and I must say, I am impressed. Want to know how it went? Read on to know.

Pot Pot Opens Its Door In Phoenix Palladium

When I stepped into Pot Pot at Phoenix Palladium, it right away felt like walking into a warm, modern Indian home. The earthy terracotta tones, natural textures, and thoughtfully designed interiors created a cosy and inviting atmosphere that felt both elegant and familiar.

As we settled in, the aroma of slow-cooked Indian spices floating through the space made the experience even more comforting. From the clay-inspired décor to the beautifully presented dishes served in rustic pots, every detail seemed to celebrate India’s rich culinary traditions while giving them a contemporary twist. It was the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, savour every bite, and simply enjoy the feeling of being at home. And full marks to them for creating something so beautiful and comforting inside the Palladium, because whenever you are here to shop, you will definitely stop for a bite.

We started off our meal with a selection of starters, and the Lotus Root Bhel turned out to be a wonderful surprise. It was a fine take on the classic Indian bhel, bringing together the crunch of lotus root with the familiar sweet, tangy, and spicy flavours we all love. It felt light, fresh, and packed with a smooth texture. Next, we tried the Tandoori Chicken Momos, which were juicy on the inside and beautifully charred on the outside, and also because I love momos, and this one didn’t disappoint at all. The intense tandoori flavours worked wonderfully, making them incredibly crave-worthy. The Kali Mirch Fish Tikka was equally impressive. Not a fish fan, and I don’t eat that at all, but I still had a bite, and my sister and family finished the rest of it, but it was simply flavourful.

Before moving on to the mains, we ordered a few drinks to settle down. The Raw Mango Panna was refreshing and tangy, with the perfect balance of sugar, spice and everything nice. It felt nostalgic and made me miss my hometown summers, but it was all worth it. The Kokum Sour had a pleasant tartness and felt quite refreshing alongside the food. We also tried the Spicy Rasna, which brought back childhood memories but with a more grown-up flavour.

What Hit & What Missed?

For the main course, we tried quite a few dishes, but before getting into the food itself, I have to take a moment to appreciate the presentation. Staying true to Pot Pot’s concept, almost everything arrived in beautifully designed pots and rustic serving vessels that added a sense of warmth and character to the meal. From the drinks to the mains, every dish felt thoughtfully presented and definitely worthy of a photo before the first bite.

We started with the Rajasthani Laal Maas, which offered comforting, classic flavours and stayed true to its roots. While it wasn’t the most impressive dish of the evening for me, it was a wholesome option for those who enjoy classic Rajasthani food. Next was the Chicken Chettinad, the dish was rich and filling, though I found it slightly sweeter than my personal taste. That said, those who enjoy a softer and more balanced take on coconut flavours might love it.

Now comes the real star of the night, the Chicken Biryani. Served in a pressure cooker, it arrived with a touch of drama and plenty of anticipation. The moment we opened it, the aroma alone had us excited. The rice was fragrant, the chicken was tender, and every spoonful was packed with flavour. It was easily the standout dish of the evening and one I would happily return for. Trust me when I say this, it was YUM!

To end the meal on a sweet note, we ordered the Paan Kulfi. If you’re a fan of paan-flavoured desserts, this one is definitely worth trying. It had all the familiar flavours of a traditional paan wrapped into a creamy kulfi, making for a refreshing finish to the meal. Well, my mom absolutely loved it!

The Pot-Pot has opened its door in Phoenix Palladium, Mumbai, and if you truly want to enjoy rich Indian flavours, then this should be on your bucket list indeed.
