“Cool for the Summer” just got a whole lot cooler. Demi Lovato has earned two new RIAA five-times Platinum certifications for the 2015 hit and fellow Confident track “Confident,” giving the singer another pair of milestones to celebrate as she returns to her Disney campgrounds in Camp Rock 3.
The tracks follow only “Sorry Not Sorry,” which was certified seven-times Platinum in December 2023, and “Heart Attack,” which was certified six-times Platinum in January 2026.
Disney Music Group president Ken Bunt presented Lovato with the certifications ahead of the Los Angeles premiere of Camp Rock 3 on Monday (Aug. 10); the film arrives Thursday (Aug. 13) on Disney Channel and the following day on Disney+.
The new milestones are just another bullet to add to the list of the successes these songs have had. “Cool for the Summer,” released in July 2015 as the lead single from Lovato’s album Confident, reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September of that year. Meanwhile, the title track peaked at No. 21 in December 2015. This era was a particularly strong period for Lovato, with Confident debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in November 2015 and being nominated for best pop vocal album at the Grammys.
With Lovato stepping back into the Disney universe that launched her career, the timing of this announcement feels very poetic and full-circle. Lovato’s connection to Disney has long been intertwined with her music career, as her performance of “This Is Me” with Joe Jonas from the original Camp Rock became a defining hit from the franchise. In Camp Rock 3, she reprises her fan-favorite role as Mitchie Torres and steps in as an executive producer on the film. The film comes nearly two decades after the original Camp Rock premiered in 2008.
More recently, Lovato released her ninth studio album, It’s Not That Deep, in October 2025.
