Given their ongoing resurgence, Limp Bizkit‘s catalog is likely long overdue for an accounting by the RIAA in the United States. As it currently stands, he band’s last award certification in that region was handed down back in 2008. That isn’t the case overseas however, as the nü-metal icons landed a pair of certifications this year in the UK.
Their song “Hot Dog“, off of their outlandishly titled hit 2000 album “Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water” went silver in the UK this past February. Now comes word that this past Friday, July 31st, their signature track, the “Significant Other” single “Break Stuff“, became their second single to achieve 2x platinum status in the UK. Their 2000 single “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)” was their first to hit that high in that territory, landing its 2x platinum certification back in January of 2025.
“Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water” remains the band’s most successful album in the UK, having landed 3x platinum status in October of 2020. A platinum album in the UK signifies 300,000 copies of the record being sold/streamed via album-equivalent units. To date “Break Stuff” has yet to even be awarded gold in the United States, while the band’s catalog also remains the subject of a legal dispute.
