“Man… All I have to say is thank you! The amount of support you all have shown me over these years means more to me than you’ll know,” Parker said in a statement. “All I’ve wanted to do is make music that connects with people and that I can be proud of. I’m just grateful that y’all are playing my songs.”

It’s another win for McCollum, whose current project, Parker McCollum, is nominated for album of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards, taking place next month. The nomination came despite the new album garnering significantly fewer streams compared with the artist’s previous two albums.

The musician said during an appearance on the Ten Year Town with Troy Cartwright podcast that he doesn’t “give a s*** one bit” about the stream numbers, but also admitted that he had been feeling burnt out when he wrote the album.

He added that he didn’t want to release anything for the sake of it – and only wanted to put out “songs I love and songs that I think could stand the test of time, that are good for songwriting and country music”.
