SAN ANTONIO – A tornado touched down near The Rim this morning, with damage reported to the Palladium IMAX theater and multiple apartment complexes.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado crossed Interstate 10 between The Dominion and Shavano Park. It was first reported at about 7:50 a.m. in Shavano Park.
The tornado caused damage to the Palladium IMAX theater at the Rim and the Oasis San Antonio apartments.
“I honestly didn’t even know it was a tornado until after I got the alert like 10 minutes later,” said complex resident William Hodges. “We didn’t know it at the time, but the roof was gone.”
The cyclone tore down trees in the area and blew the roof off the apartment complex, causing damage to multiple units. The Palladium also suffered extensive damage.
The San Antonio Fire Department confirmed no injuries have been reported.
