Gold: Police Seize Gold and Silver from Logistics Vehicles in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police Special Operations Team sleuths seized 34 kg of gold and 43 kg of silver from two cars belonging to a logistics company. Police said the persons who were transporting the gold and silver did not produce any supportive documents. Later, they were brought to RGI Airport police and the property was seized and the election authorities concerned were informed. During the probe, police found that three logistics companies had sent the gold from Mumbai to Hyderabad. After it reached RGIA domestic cargo facility, the stock was loaded into two vehicles before it was to be delivered to different businessmen. Police also informed the income-tax and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence authorities. “Three logistics companies were transporting the gold and silver belonging to various customers. It was received by their men in Hyderabad. We caught them when they were being transported in two vehicles without carrying supportive documents,” deputy commissioner of police (SOT) Srinivas told STOI. When consignment was being sent to Hyderabad, it was declared as ‘precious metals’ and not specified as gold and silver. They were found in a trunk, police said.
