MicroStrategy (NASDAQ:MSTR) has effectively become a leveraged Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) balance sheet with a legacy analytics business bolted on. Now rebranded as Strategy, the firm holds 846,000 BTC and its stock trades as an amplified proxy for the coin.
Shares sit at $129.60 after a brutal year, and I want to answer one question directly: can MSTR reach $400 in 2027, and what does Bitcoin need to do to make that happen?
Why MSTR Shares Are Stuck at $130
Bitcoin. That is the entire story. The coin closed at $75,584 on September 15 after touching $82,283 intraday on September 3. That pullback dragged MSTR down 5.07% on the week and left the stock down 14.71% year to date and a painful 60.46% over one year.
With a beta of 3.597, MSTR magnifies every Bitcoin wiggle. Q2 delivered an $8.22 billion net loss driven by unrealized digital asset losses under fair-value accounting, and Polymarket traders are pricing an 78% probability of an MSCI index delisting by year end. That is the overhang keeping institutional buyers on the sidelines.
