AIUB Finance Club Hosts Inauguration and Member Orientation Ceremony


The AIUB Finance Club Inauguration and Member Orientation Ceremony marked a significant and inspiring beginning, bringing together academic excellence, professional insight, and a shared vision for the future of finance. The event proudly introduced the first-ever Executive Committee, laying the foundation for leadership, innovation, and long-term impact.

Distinguished guests and esteemed faculty members present at the occasion included Professor Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor; Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor; Professor Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director, MBA Program; Stanley Sumon Rodrick, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing and Special Assistant, OSA; Hamidul Islam, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing and Special Assistant, OSA; Samia Shabnaz, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Management; Nusrat Nowreen Srabonty, Lecturer, Department of Management; and Iftekhar Mahmud, Lecturer, Department of English. From the department of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Kamrul Hasan, Associate Professor; Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed, Assistant Professor; and Nabila Wahid, Lecturer were also present along with the club mentors Bohi Shajahan, Senior Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Finance, and Quazi Nur Alam, Assistant Professor. The event was graciously hosted by Fatin Binte Raihan and Bhuiyan Rifat.

Professor Dr. Saiful Islam expressed his gratitude to the faculties and mentors of the AIUB Finance Club for taking such an initiative that bridges students and the industry. Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan stated that AIUB is setting an example through its club activities and remains ahead of many institutions in this regard. He further affirmed that he would closely support and oversee the activities of the AIUB Finance Club in every possible way.

Mr. Mahbubul Islam Mazumder, Executive Director and Head of Cash Management, Standard Chartered Bank, present as the industry guest of the event, reflected on how private university students can establish themselves as industry leaders and how such club activities provide the platform to transform ambitions into reality. Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed emphasized the importance of establishing a finance club at AIUB, noting that it enables students to develop practical competencies such as financial modeling, investment analysis, and market understanding. He further highlighted how club activities enhance career readiness through networking opportunities, exposure to industry professionals, and insights into finance-related career paths.

Overall, the AIUB Finance Club represents a significant step toward aligning Bangladeshi finance education with global standards and preparing students for real-world financial challenges. The club also continues to receive guidance from its dedicated mentors, Bohi Shajahan and Quazi Nur Alam, whose unwavering support continues to inspire the club’s journey forward.

The ceremony also featured a symbolic cake-cutting moment celebrating the beginning of this promising new chapter, along with a vibrant cultural performance by the AIUB Performing Arts Club. The inauguration was more than a ceremonial beginning – it was a declaration of commitment to knowledge, leadership, and excellence in the field of finance. As the AIUB Finance Club embarks on this journey, it remains steadfast in its mission to foster academic growth and professional development among its members.
