Beechcroft secures funding from Close Brothers Property Finance for 45 luxury retirement homes

Retirement developer Beechcroft has secured funding from Close Brothers Property Finance for a scheme of 45 homes designed for over-55s in West Horsley, Surrey.

Close Brothers Property Finance has worked alongside Beechcroft for more than 17 years, supporting the delivery of over 850 retirement homes, with a combined Gross Development Value of £500million.

The new retirement development marks Beechcroft’s return to West Horsley, where the company delivered the award-winning Frenchlands Gate in East Horsley, around a decade ago.

Beechcroft has already achieved planning permission for the three-acre site. In addition to the landscaped setting, Beechcroft residents will benefit from a communal lounge, a guest suite for visitors, allocated parking and electric vehicle charging points. An Estate Manager will also be employed to take responsibility for the maintenance of the development, including the upkeep of both private and communal gardens.

Chris Thompson, Managing Director of Beechcroft, commented: “We have developed a strong, collaborative partnership with Close Brothers Property Finance team and, with their continued support, we have been able to acquire sites in some of the most sought-after areas across the southern counties and to create exceptional homes, both retirement schemes and Special Project developments.”

Phil Hooper, CEO of Close Brothers Property Finance, said: “We are incredibly proud to be supporting Beechcroft. They consistently set the benchmark for luxury retirement living, creating beautifully designed homes and communities, and their continued success is a testament to the quality of their product and vision for the sector. We look forward to supporting the delivery of this development and supporting Beechcroft to achieve its future growth ambitions.”

Construction is scheduled to start in late 2026, with the first sales release expected to take place in spring/summer 2027.
