Perks boosts finance brokerage with senior appointment

Perks has appointed a senior commercial banking executive to lead its finance brokerage business.

Shamus Rynne has joined Perks as director of Perks Finance, bringing more than 25 years of experience across commercial banking, including roles with Westpac, Commonwealth Bank, and NAB.

His experience spans commercial lending, relationship management, complex credit structuring, business development, and client acquisition.

Rynne has worked with businesses ranging from SMEs to emerging corporates, advising on lending, investment, and financing decisions.

Founded in 1981 in South Australia, Perks works as a professional services and advisory firm alongside the finance brokerage, with over 250 employees across the entire company.

Perks Finance provides lending, refinancing, cash flow funding, asset finance, and strategic finance solutions to business owners and individuals.

Perks CEO James Black said the appointment would support the continued development of Perks Finance.

“Perks Finance is an important part of our integrated service offering and we see significant opportunities for continued growth in this area,” Black said.

“Shamus’ appointment reflects our ongoing investment in Perks Finance and will help us continue building on the strong reputation and capability of the business as part of the broader Perks Group.”

Rynne said he was attracted to the role by Perks’ broader advisory model and its work with business owners.

“Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with business owners at key moments of growth, investment and transition,” he said.

“What’s become clear is that finance works best when it’s connected to broader business, tax and strategic considerations.”
