Greenberg Traurig announced the expansion of its Private Equity Practice with the addition of shareholders Cornelius “Neal” Loughery and Curt Ostosh in the firm’s Chicago office. The move strengthens the firm’s capabilities across private equity financing and mergers and acquisitions as sponsors continue to pursue increasingly sophisticated transactions.
Loughery advises private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and lenders on a broad range of financing transactions. His experience includes leveraged buyouts, refinancings, and subscription line financings. Having also represented sponsors on acquisitions and dispositions earlier in his career, Loughery brings an integrated perspective spanning the full private equity investment lifecycle. He joins Greenberg Traurig from Kirkland & Ellis.
Ostosh focuses on representing private equity sponsors and strategic investors in complex transactions, including leveraged buyouts, minority investments, take-private transactions, and add-on acquisitions. He also advises portfolio companies on strategic growth initiatives and general corporate matters. Ostosh previously practiced at Sidley Austin and spent several years representing private equity sponsors at Ropes & Gray.
According to Greenberg Traurig, the additions enhance the firm’s ability to provide comprehensive support to sponsors and their portfolio companies across both financing and transactional matters. The expansion follows the arrival of private equity lawyers Francesco A. Castaldi and Robert Graham in Chicago last year as the firm continues to invest in the practice.
Greenberg Traurig’s Chicago office has operated for more than 25 years and now includes nearly 200 lawyers serving clients across a broad range of industries. Globally, the firm has approximately 3,100 lawyers across 51 offices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia.
