Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners fully invested Fund VII after deploying $135.8 million across 16 multifamily and industrial investments throughout the U.S. The completion marks the end of Fund VII’s investment period.
The fund is managed by Brian Cornell, Ryan Castle, Marcus Duley, and Mitch Resnick.
Fund VII completed its final investment with a $5.7 million commitment to a 154-unit multifamily community in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area.
Approximately 66% of the fund was invested in industrial assets, while 34% was allocated to multifamily investments.
The strategy targeted underutilized and undervalued properties where WDIP identified actionable value-enhancement opportunities.
Fund VII primarily pursued middle-market transactions with equity checks ranging from $5 million to $25 million.
As of the second quarter, average occupancy across Fund VII’s multifamily portfolio had increased from 61% at acquisition to 81%.
Average occupancy across the fund’s acquired industrial portfolio increased from 86% to 97%.
With Fund VII fully deployed, WDIP plans to continue evaluating middle-market equity opportunities involving market dislocation, operational complexity, and capital constraints.
Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners manages capital for endowments, foundations, pension plans, private funds, insurance companies, family offices, and high-net-worth investors.
