A child was killed Saturday afternoon, April 11, 2026, after being struck by a vehicle on private property along County Road 800 about two miles north of Marble Hill.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. when a 1998 Jeep Wrangler began moving from a parked position and struck a 4-year-old girl.
The child, from Vacaville, California, was pronounced dead at a nearby fire station at 1:31 p.m. by Bollinger County Coroner Calvin Troxell.
The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, a 17-year-old man from Marble Hill, Missouri, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident. The vehicle was not damaged and was left at the scene.
