HUGE flames engulfed a Bournemouth property as firefighters tackled a house fire last night.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Iford Lane, Bournemouth, on the evening of January 15 after a fire broke out in a property.
Firefighters from Christchurch and Springbourne arrived at 8.35pm and found the building ‘well alight’ on all floors.
A crew from Westbourne was called after finding the fire ‘well established’ to provide an aerial ladder platform.
After confirming the occupant was safely outside, firefighters tackled the blaze with two main lines, three hose reel jets, eight breathing apparatus wearers and the aerial ladder fighting from above.
Just before 1am the incident was scaled down to one pump from Redhill Park fire station.
Flames were seen to fill the property and gusts of smoke surrounded the houses while firefighters tackled the blaze.
A witness at the scene said two men alerted occupants of the house and neighbours nearby before calling the fire service.
Pictures show extensive damage from the fire, with the porch roof scorched and window frames left black and charred.
The fire service are warning residents to test fire alarms as ‘they may save your life and your property’.
