Limerick property firm faces winding-up proceedings in High Court

PROPERTY management company Aviary Estates is facing winding-up proceedings in the High Court.

Limerick City and County Council, which, according to a public notice is a creditor of the company, has presented a petition to a judge seeking the order to close Aviary’s operations and recover money it claims it’s owed.

The petition, which was presented to the High Court before Christmas, is due to be heard on January 29 next.

Aviary manages buildings across the region.

In a brief comment, a director of Aviary Estates said: “We are aware a petition has been lodged to wind up Aviary Estates.

Aviary Estates is disputing this, but we cannot make any further comment as the matter is before the courts.”

Aviary Estates, which is headquartered at Mount Kennett Place off Dock Road in the city centre, manages several of the residential blocks in that area.

It provides cleaning, waste collection and other services in the public areas of these buildings.

The Limerick Leader understands there will be no interruption to these services, and that it is “business as usual.”

When contacted, a spokesperson for Limerick City and County Council said since the matter is before the High Court, it is unable to make a comment.
