Man arrested over ‘firearms incidents’ after armed police attend property in Fife


A man has been arrested over a “firearms incident” at a property in a Fife town.

Emergency services were called to Walker Street, in Cowdenbeath, at around 2.50pm on Wednesday.

A 43-year-old man was arrested in connection with firearms incidents that occurred on Tuesday.

He is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.50pm on Wednesday, 17 January, 2024, officers executed a search warrant at a property in Walker Street, Cowdenbeath in relation to two firearms incidents that occurred on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

“A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the offences and is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 18, 2024.”
