Man charged with felony burning personal property, domestic violence


An Onslow County man is facing multiple charges following an alleged domestic violence incident on Saturday.

According to arrest warrants issued by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Jim Lee Grady was arrested on May 16 and charged with felony burning personal property, assault on a female and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

Warrants state Grady is accused of burning personal property, including a blue tent, a gray polo shirt and other unrecognizable items. Investigators allege the burning was carried out with the intent to injure or prejudice the female victim.

Authorities also allege Grady assaulted the female by pushing her to the ground and holding her down. Warrants state the two were involved in a current dating relationship at the time of the incident.

Grady remains in the Onslow County Jail without bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court Monday, May 18.
