Police armed with shields seen at Inverness property amid ‘stand-off’ | News

A large police, fire and ambulance service presence were seen in Merkinch today following reports of a disturbance.

Emergency services rushed to the area surrounding Madras street at around 3:10pm this afternoon.

We understand a man was involved in a stand off with officers.

Part of Grant Street was cordoned off from the public.

Police officers with shields and protective clothing were seen leaving a property at round 6:45pm.

Earlier today, police confirmed enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.10pm on Thursday, 18 April, officers attended at a property in the Madras Street area of Inverness following a report of a disturbance.

“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
