Real estate trades reach KD 48.9m


KUWAIT: A total of 72 real estate contracts worth approximately KD 48.9 million ($161.4 million) were traded during the first three days of September, according to statistics released Tuesday by the Real Estate Registration and Documentation Department at the Ministry of Justice. Private property transactions accounted for the largest number of deals, with 54 contracts valued at approximately KD 18.2 million ($60 million), while investment properties ranked second with 16 contracts worth around KD 29.5 million ($97.4 million).

The statistics showed that one commercial property contract was traded for KD 17,000 ($56,000), while one coastal strip property contract was valued at KD 1.2 million ($4 million). By governorate, four private property contracts were recorded in the Capital Governorate, while Hawally saw 13 contracts, including eight private property and five investment property deals. 

Al-Farwaniyah Governorate recorded 14 contracts, comprising 10 private property and four investment property transactions. Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate witnessed five contracts, including three private property deals, one investment property contract and one coastal strip property transaction. Al-Ahmadi Governorate recorded 22 contracts, comprising 15 private property, six investment property and one commercial property deal. Al-Jahra Governorate recorded 14 contracts, all involving private properties. — KUNA
