CREW Miami Brings Two Timely Conversations to South Florida’s Commercial Real Estate Community This October

Commercial Real Estate Women Miami (CREW Miami) will bring two distinct conversations to South Florida’s commercial real estate community this October, offering professionals opportunities to learn, ask questions and connect with influential voices from across commercial real estate and related industries.

On October 14, Real Estate on the Front Lines: Recognizing & Preventing Human Trafficking will examine an issue with particular relevance to South Florida’s hospitality and real estate industries as the region moves toward its busy tourism season. Later in the month, The 9 Things I Wish I Knew on October 30 will bring together three women leaders to share candid career lessons as the culmination of CREW Miami’s annual mentorship program.

Together, the programs reflect CREW Miami’s broader mission to create opportunities for education, professional interaction and networking while advancing women throughout the commercial real estate industry.

Real Estate on the Front Lines: Hospitality, Real Estate and Human Trafficking

Wednesday, Oct. 14 | 8:30–10:00 a.m.
Marsh | 830 Brickell Plaza, Miami, Florida 33131

(L-R) Amanda Altman, Gina Hunter, Abbie Waxman, David Whitaker

As South Florida prepares for its winter tourism season and an influx of visitors, the professionals who own, operate, manage and insure hotels and other properties can occupy an important position in recognizing potential signs of human trafficking.

CREW Miami, in partnership with Marsh, will bring together perspectives from advocacy, federal law enforcement, tourism and risk management for an educational workshop examining how human trafficking can intersect with hotels, multifamily communities, short-term rentals and other properties. The discussion will address warning signs commercial real estate professionals should recognize and how they can respond appropriately.

Featured panelists include:

  • Amanda Altman, Chief Executive Officer, Kristi House
  • Gina Hunter, Healthcare Safety Consultant & Leader Partnership Manager, Marsh
  • Abbie Waxman, Assistant United States Attorney, United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida
  • David Whitaker, President & CEO, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau

Together, the panelists bring perspectives spanning victim advocacy, federal law enforcement, risk management, tourism and hospitality. Their combined expertise gives commercial real estate professionals an opportunity to consider the issue from multiple points of view, including the responsibilities of those who own, operate, manage, insure and interact with properties throughout South Florida.

The participation of tourism and hospitality leadership is particularly timely as South Florida approaches one of its busiest periods for visitors, while the broader panel offers attendees an opportunity to learn directly from professionals working across prevention, enforcement, risk and the visitor economy.

The 9 Things I Wish I Knew: Mentorship and Lessons From Women in CRE

Friday, Oct. 30 | 8:30–10:30 a.m.
Haber Law Wynwood | 251 NW 23 Street, Miami, Florida 33127

Tamika Moses, Emily Butler, CPA, Office Managing Partner, CohnReznick (Miami), and 2026 CREW Miami Board President, Adriana Jaegerman and Jackie Salcines, Esq.,

What do experienced women in commercial real estate wish they had known earlier in their careers?

The 9 Things I Wish I Knew, the culmination of CREW Miami’s annual mentorship program, gives attendees an opportunity to hear those answers directly from three women whose careers span multiple areas of commercial real estate and related industries.

Featured panelists include:

  • Jackie Salcines, Esq., Founder & CEO, Salcines Law
  • Adriana Jaegerman, Senior Vice President and Business Leader, Stantec
  • Tamika Moses, CEO and Managing Broker, Robin Bird Realty

Together, the panelists bring perspectives from real estate law, architecture, engineering and design, brokerage, entrepreneurship and business leadership. Their varied career paths provide a framework for a candid conversation about professional growth, leadership, navigating change and the lessons that often come only through experience.

The conversation also speaks directly to CREW Miami’s mission of advancing women in commercial real estate. According to the 2025 CREW Network Benchmark Study, women comprise 38% of the industry, a figure that has remained nearly constant for two decades. For the fourth consecutive benchmark study, women identified having an internal senior executive mentor as the leading factor contributing to their future success.

Rather than a traditional career panel, The 9 Things I Wish I Knew is designed around lessons learned—giving attendees an opportunity to hear what established professionals wish they had known earlier, ask questions and connect those experiences to their own careers.

“CREW Miami’s programs are designed to bring professionals together not only to network, but to learn from people whose expertise and experiences can broaden the conversation around commercial real estate,” said Emily Butler, CPA, Office Managing Partner, CohnReznick (Miami), and 2026 CREW Miami Board President. “These October programs address very different subjects, but both create opportunities to ask questions, share knowledge and build relationships. Mentorship is especially important to our mission because advancing women in commercial real estate means creating opportunities to learn from one another and helping the next generation build strong, sustainable careers.”
